Great punch from Martha Stewart Crafts Sep 18, 2013

Punching & embossing punches are lots of fun & add an add'l detail for a nice touch.
I found w/embossing punches that a solid squeeze of the handle is necessary in order to get deep embossed look. Yet, if you squeeze too hard, you end of distressing the paper too much & cause splitting. Different weight paper requires different squeeze pressure. In my experience, I've found standard weight card stock the best to use for virtually all my craft punches. However, a properly sharpened (punch foil & wax paper to maintain punch) punch will punch through light/standard weight paper to thicker/premium card stock without a problem.
The majority of my craft punches are Martha Stewart Crafts (actually, they are my favorites) & I've only returned one due to a tension that was too soft. Overall, I find Martha Stewart Crafts punches to be very sturdy, well-made, & very well-designed (they are compact, look good, & designed to store well w/each other). Not to mention, the designs are awesome too.
