I love this stuff! Nov 24, 2011
By D. Burt

I picked up this stuff on sale at our local Grocery Outlet and now I'm hooked! Yes, it is rather thick, as other reviewers have noted. It comes out of the handy little pump just fine though. I put it right into a Downy Ball and throw it in my top-loading (NOT HE) washing machine. The clothes smell great - really they smell "clean" rather than scented - and they are so soft! The clothes are much softer than they were with Downy, a product I've used and liked for years.

Too thick Jan 25, 2010
By mcarthur6 I also found this product messy and too thick. It would sit like a gooey lump in my HE softener dispenser. I tried adding water to it and it didn't help. I won't be using the rest of this product. Such a waste. Disappointing for Martha Stewart products.

Great Fabric Softener Feb 03, 2012
By kittycat This softener is great! Yes, it is thick but I use the downy ball which works really well: Add the softener to the line indicated then fill the rest of the ball with water and make sure to shake well so it is completely diluted. Toss it in the wash as normal. It works great. I love that it has very few ingredients, it's environmentally friendly and vegan!

It works well if you thin it with water... Oct 13, 2010
By wildandgreen1 I too was very disappointed that this product was so thick that it just stayed in the fabric softener dispenser of my HE Front-loading washer. I really liked the way it didn't have fragrances and was made from plant based ingredients so I decided to experiment with it. I got a small, clean, empty glass jar...pumped in a couple of squirts of the fabric softener and then added a few ounces of water, re-capped the jar and shook it. This thinned the product so I poured about 1/2 of it in the dispenser and my machine liked it now! The clothes come out soft and not loaded with synthetic fragrance like from conventional softeners. I actually got two more bottles as I would rather use this even if I have to fiddle with it a bit.

Not for me Dec 08, 2009
By soulatpeace This product does not perform well for me. The softener is messy and thick so when it goes into the dispenser and is time to be added to the water, it gets stuck there and not much really gets to the water. I've tried adding it to the water directly but clothes dont come out soft. The amount of product, performance and cost does not equal a good deal. I preferred seventh generation softener.
