5Wonderful Alternative to Down!  Jul 12, 2014
By M. Griffin
I purchased this at a large retail chain, during a huge sale. As a VERY long time user of high quality Down Comforters, I had gone in expecting to pay a certain price for a new one. Not only were they out of the Cal King down comforters in the brand I preferred, but what I started to notice was that the bulk of their inventory was this "Down Alternative". I didn't have time to research the product like I usually do, so I decided to choose one based on my prior experience with this brand.

I have had this comforter for close to four months (end of spring to beginning of summer). I was, and continue to be extremely pleasantly surprised. It's very warm on the cool nights, and a reasonable cover on the hotter ones. I have also noticed that I am a bit less stuffy when I wake up in the morning, so I think the "alternative down" is the way I'll go from now on.

Two other huge perks. 1. It's SO MUCH CHEAPER than real down, though just as warm. 2. No more dry cleaning! These are machine washable!

And two other things I would note, that are in no way deal breakers for me but may bother some: Since I use a duvet, I didn't bother to wash it before use, it was pretty stiff, and a little noisy for the first few weeks. But it eventually broke in, and now it's just wonderful. Highly, highly recommend it!

2The size is all wrong!  Oct 13, 2009
By Kelly D.
Just put this on my bed and I'm very disappointed. I have a standard king size mattress and the king size comforter is too small. It is smaller than the top of the mattress. There is no overhang at all, which might be fine if you're sleeping alone. I can see my husband and I getting into a tug-of-war match with this comforter in the middle of the night. Shouldn't the comforter be larger than the top of the mattress?

5Love this comforter!  Aug 11, 2010
By Cinder
Not sure why the person above got a smaller size. I have a King size mattress, and the king size comforter is perfectly sized with plenty of overhang. I wanted a lighter-weight comforter as I can no longer sleep under down anymore (too hot!) and this comforter is exactly what I needed. Good quality too.
