a 5-star weighing scale Jan 17, 2013
By queenbee I was in need of a kitchen scale that measured in grams and ordered one from Amazon. I had to return it as it required calibration weights which was not included with the item and which would have cost me $50 more. I've had this Martha Stewart scale for many years now and have been using it almost every time I bake. I've always measured in pounds and didn't realize until today that it actually measures in both pounds and kilograms. I saw one that's similar online which featured dual weighing system and I thought maybe I should check my Martha Stewart one. What a pleasant surprise!! I've saved myself some money! This weighing scale is great! I have had it for so long and it has served me well. The reviewer who gave this a low rating saying it does not tare is mistaken. It does tare. That's why it's always good to read the accompanying manual that comes with any product for one to know how an item works. Too bad the low rating unfairly brought down what should be a five star rated product. So here's my review and I'm giving it 5 stars. Thanks, Martha!

Great Scale Apr 14, 2011

We had this for a little over two years before it kind of went on us. It is a great scale. Very large glass table for placing of plates. I bought another popular smaller scale to replace it and hate the new one. This is back-lit as it should be. The buttons work well and shut off quickly. I don't need it to tare. I miss this scale and would buy it again.

Lame interface Jan 07, 2011
By PTD What kind of scale doesn't have a tare button? Seriously, if I were a designer of scales, that would pretty much be the number one user-interface requirement. But hey, I guess Martha Stewart is too cool to clutter her scale up with clunky buttons and useful functions. Instead, she clutters it up with 3 buttons all related to this scale's built in timer. I didn't want a $40 timer though. I wanted a scale. I'm returning this.
