This came nicely packaged in a nice cardboard box for giving as a gift. Quick shipping too. I took a star off only because it's a pretty large and heavy dish, which is great, but I probably would not have ordered it if I knew it was a heavy glass. So it will look very nice in the middle of a buffet table, not for passing around a table, even if you have cuts of meat and not the whole turkey. I don't see why the photo shows it on a stand ... its just the plate that is shipped.
