OK for my needs, others may be disappointed Jan 26, 2010

I wanted to re-create a design I saw in a British card-making magazine, using punched holly leaves overlapped in a circle to create a wreath. This punch came closest to the size of leaf I wanted to use, since I'm in the US and couldn't find the exact punch used by the British designer.

I have found that unfortunately, the small "stem" of the leaves often sticks in the punch and ends up tearing. For my needs where I'm overlapping the leaves themselves, it doesn't matter as I would be snipping off the stem anyway. However if you want the stem attached, or if you plan to use the negative space left in the paper after you remove the punched shape, you might be disappointed if your punch sticks also. I've tried using waxed paper to "lubricate" the punch and tin foil to sharpen it, but I think it's more of a slightly mis-aligned design problem.

I purchased this item for my wife for her scrapbooking projects. When entering the shipping address I forgot to add on of our names. I contacted the seller and they were able to add my wifes name to the parcel before it was shipped. Now that is service... I love the leaves and I can make the berries red separately. I make them ahead of time for use when I'm in a creating mode.
