The tool stands upright for easy access and storage. Note: Shapes with cut-out designs will remain attached to the paper with 2 tiny tabs to prevent them from becoming stuck in the tool. This is the most beautiful and intricate punch I have...it is precise and easy to use. Because it is so intricately detailed and has such a delicate design, it does not work on heavy duty materials. It works perfectly on most scrap booking papers...even the sturdy ones. The effect of this design used on tags, etc. is stunning !

These cutters from Martha Stewart are cute and well made, however won't cut thick papers, being sometimes useless to have - I was looking for some cupcake decorations, but my cardboard almost broke the machine and I had to switch to very thin paper instead.
