Disappointing Jul 02, 2013
By Gypsi Phillips Bates
First off, this is not Washi tape. It doesn't claim to be, but tape labeled "paper tape" generally is (for example, that purchased at Target).
(Washi tape, for the uninitiated, is like masking tape. It is pliable, it is transparent, it can be pulled up and restuck numerous times, and it can be written on.)
Martha Stewart's Paper Tape has the unpleasant texture of wax paper and so is too slick to be written on.
It stuck okay on paper but did not do well at all on slick finished paper. It tends to roll up at the top and bottom, and to become unstuck at the ends. It did stick rather well to my ceiling fan, though (which I decorated with a mix of this paper tape and some other Washi tape), only needing me to restick it occasionally.
Overall, without taking into consideration that it isn't what I was expecting (Washi tape), it is disappointing as a craft item. It is lovely though, and I'm sure I will find some way to use it. I certainly will not buy any more, though.

A little different than I expected. Jan 17, 2012
By Portia B
This tape is much more glossy than I thought it would be. It still has a slightly waxy look to it like regular masking tape or Japanese washi paper tape, but it is far glossier than either and does not feel waxy at all. Some people might like it better, but it has a much different look than I thought it would. The shiny glossiness looks a bit tackier to me and does not look as good for all the applications I would use other paper tapes. I still like it a lot and will use it for many things, but I am a tad disappointed. It is still a wonderful product, but if you are used to other types of paper tape you might want to find it in a craft store first or at least be aware that it is a little bit shiny.

Terrible Adhesive, Strange Crinkly Texture Apr 01, 2013
I don't own too many paper or washi tapes, but I ordered these from Amazon for a project, and I had some from Target to compare them to. By comparison, the Martha Stewart tape is thicker and less pliable, with a strange crinkly texture -- as though it's made out of plastic or wax paper instead of regular paper (like the other brand). The adhesive on the Martha Stewart brand is also terrible. Just terrible. I was trying to use it for gift wrapping and it wouldn't even stick to the paper. Regular brown kraft paper. *Everything* should stick to regular brown kraft paper.
This earns an extra star for the coordinating prints, but based on its usefulness, I can't mark it any higher. I'd never order this brand again.

Adorable and works well Dec 05, 2011
How else can I review tape? The prints on the tape are adorable. I have been using it to put up pictures on my wall. The tape sticks well and removes just as easily without ripping out paint. My pictures have been up for a month and they're still up there. I haven't tried sticking it on paper and then taking it off, though.

Cute, but Unreliable Adhesive Jun 06, 2012
The appearance is exactly as shown on the product photo. Lovely patterns, vibrant colors. Unfortunately, the adhesive is not good at all. It will hold briefly, but anything over anything over a slight breeze equals trouble. It's easy to add a little glue before placing it on items to decorate. However, I don't know if I would trust it to tape a note to a neighbor's door (for example).
