Lovely and Practical Jul 25, 2009

It was hard for me to find iced beverage glasses I actually liked the look of. I looked at Riedel glasses and many others in person before I settled on these and I am still extremely happy with them. They are lovely and elegant additions to our table.
They are also incredibly easy to care for! They have gone through the dishwasher several times, but even when I hand wash them, my mind is at ease. I have clinked them pretty hard against stoneware while hand washing and there are no chips. They dry beautifully as well; they always look pristine without a water mark in sight.
One thing that turned me off initially is the sound the glasses make. They sound somewhere in between plastic and crystal when clinked together, though you can get a pretty good ring sometimes when you clink them together just right. Overall though, I am very satisfied. These aren't meant to be champagne flutes and I got the everyday set I was looking for.
***UPDATE***
So despite being break resistant, I finally managed to break one. I was holding it and while flicking water off I carelessly slammed it into the faucet head. However, instead of the glass shattering all over and cutting my hand as might be expected, it only broke on the area that made contact with the faucet, leaving the rest in tact. Very happy with this purchase, and indeed the "break resistance" is not just a gimmick.

This simple pattern "Grace" from Martha Stewart Collection is understated elegance. I love the design and durability of this collection. I ordered three different sizes and happy with all of them. What's even better is that they are dishwasher safe! I highly recommend this product.
